About the work

Marking my first commission by conductor Bruce Pullan, this work is meant to illustrate the meeting of Mary and the Angel and Mary's efforts to try and understand exactly what she is being told.

The "narration" is given to a small group of soloists from each section with the words of the Archangel are given to the entire choir.
