about the work

3 years after commissioning my work “Prometheus”, Eric Hannan Director of the Vancouver Cantata Singers asked if I would be interested writing another piece to add to the series. Without hesitation I said yes, but this time I wanted to write a work for a villain. Medusa was the result. 

The piece should have a strong sense of rage from beginning to end. Why is it always so fun to write music for the villains?
